Paint cleaners?

Seriously, what's the deal with these? Is it just another way to relieve our wallets of more money or is there a genuine use to this stuff? From the description, it sounds like a very light polish. But isn't that the purpose of a finishing polish like PO106FA? I'll use it if people notice a significant difference, but so far, I don't see the need.

Great questions. Paint cleaners have their place for those not wanting to truly polish their paint or for those wanting to prep the paint for wax and do it by hand. The problem with using true polishes like Menzerna Super finish, 106FA, or Meguiar's 205, is that these polishes were intended to be used with a machine, not ideal by hand.

Products like P21S Paint Cleanser are designed to gently polish the paint but also add some oils that further enhance clarity and color. They do have the ability to fill in minor swirls and scratches because on older and more delicate original paints, you want to preserve the integrity of the original paint job. Ideal for a classic or original vehicle for a concours.

So, hope this sheds light on paint cleansers. Think of them as mild polishes with some fillers designed to be used by hand. We only use paint cleansers on all our details. We do however have a special blend of Menzerna, our own custom blend, that we're playing with that is proving to do a great job of removing minor swirls and scratches while behaving like a paint cleanser. This blend will probably become our next go-to polish cleanser that we'll use on all our details. For paint corrections, we only use actual menzerna polishes with a flex or makita.
