What's the best compound to use on wheels?

I'm looking to get my wheels as shiny as possible. Best compound to use?

You'd probably want a polish, not a compound. What wheels do you have? Can you post pictures?

Are the rims painted? chromed? polished aluminum? stainless steel? coated or raw?

I would buy a Mothers Power Ball for starters and depending on the material and finish would determine the type of polish to use.
