Is the black border surround on the Targa roof made of plastic? Have some micro scratches visible in bright sun or when inspected with light. Not sure where these came from given my OCD level of care, maybe dealer prep. Anyway, can these be polished out or improved and how? Thanks.

 

Yup they can be easily polished. I would recommend some Menzerna Super Finish with a white CCS pad at very low rpms. Should finish perfectly.

Thanks I assume you guys recommend taping off the surrounding glass and paint. I have a PC so I am thinking by low rpm's you mean #2 max on the dial.

 

Tape off any rubber or hard plastics. DA polishers are gauged in OPM, orbits per minute. So, you'll want to be around 4.5-5.5 on a PC.
