Anyone in Los Angeles willing to lend me a Paint Meter?

Before I start on my 996TT, I want to get a measure of the paint thickness. But spending $600 on a Paint Thickness Gauge to use a few times probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

Anyone in the LA area got one I could borrow for a weekend? I'd be more than happy to trade something for it (CR Spotless? some product?) or even help do some detailing (if you trust me!) in exchange :P

Or I guess I could just drive to a local body shop and ask to borrow theirs for a few minutes...

Any thoughts/comments/recommendations on this? Or if there's a good and cheap paint meter that anyone knows of, that would be cool too.

You're more than welcome to drop by and use our meter Joe. A good bodyshop near you should also help out get some readings.

Thanks for the offer! I had planned on asking you about this at your grand opening, but you were pretty busy and I forgot :P

I think I'll try one of the many body shops around and see if they won't lend me their paint meter for a few minutes
