Detailing vs Full Wrap

Hi Guys,

I've been debating for some time now... rather to keep having my car detailed or do a full body wrap. I'd like to keep the car's physical appearance as maintenance free as possible, after all, it's meant to be driven not stared at.

There are some Matt-transparent wrapping materials out there that would matt any car. I was debating if I should go that route for a fresh look and not having to worry about detailing the car afterwards.

Thoughts?

Fully wrapping the car is definitely a great way to go. It does however still require some maintenance, as the film does need to periodically be waxed. If oxidation, or scratching occurs in the film it will need a mild polish. Underneath however, you will have a perfect finish, and the film is perfectly removable.

As mentioned a wrap will not keep itself clean, and though your paint will be left in the condition it's wrapped in, removing it for any reason will mean LOOOOTTTTS of adhesive removal clean up which is no fun.

Just a thought.

I happen to like the matte look, but you'll still have to at least periodically clean the wheels, wheel wells, windows, interior, and engine compartment. Maybe the reduction in effort in keeping the paint clean is worth it to you, though.

After you spend the money to have it fully wrapped you're going to want it to look nice.... thus cleaning regularly.

Kind of funny how it works that way.

I believe he just has the itch of modifying and wants to change something. This may be his excuse to wrap it! lol
Like they've all said either way you're still going to wash it to keep it clean. Just don't have to polish it as often.
