New paint-clear bra install

Hi all-

My wife's Lexus just had a front end respray (best shop in town and baked paint) back on Dec 6th.

They recommend no clear bra or wax for 90days......this seemed long to me, especially since I do not want rock chips on the new paint!

My clearbra installer will be using water and a small mix of rubbing alcohol to install. Is it OK to get it done now? (45 days).

Thanks!

45 days should be no problem. If they are using Venture Shield you can install the next day, as the film breathes.

EliminatorXP is infamous around these parts
30 day's minimum, 45 days is more than plenty time for the paint on your wife's Lexus to have cured. Wait any longer and you will be covering a chipped up and repainted front end.....

drying time will take a bit longer since temp is colder.

best to let it sit in sun for a few days. 45 should be fine. sniff the paint and see if you smell anything.

At the end of the day, it's the painter that will warranty any paint issues. I'd caution on the side of the body shop. Should anything ever happen with the paint, probably won't, you have assurance knowing you waited to install the film when the body shop recommended.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree with Moe to wait on the shops recommendation but also feel they are covering their a**

In looking at her hood today, I noticed 2 new rock chips on the new hood and it pretty much has cemented my decision to put the clearbra on this sunday!
