Factory 997 Porsche Cover Question

So I have beautiful home on Lake Whatcom but only have a covered car port with no plans for garage soon. With that said, I purchased a factory Porsche "Outdoor" cover to keep the 997 spotless and out of harms way from my inattentive landscape crew and their DA#M leaf blowers.

Q-1, The two black cords that are attached to the front end of the cover, what is the proper way to secure them? They seem to only go only to the front wheels with no obvious connect possibilities under the car as most car covers I have owned in the past. (I have been tucking them into the bonnet and shutting it very carefully)

Q-2, Even if secured tightly and on a spotless well waxed car I have been getting scratches on the top of the front quarters from wind buffeting the cover, has anyone overcome this?

I do thank other members helping out the newbie on this if possible. Heck, I was so scared the first time I put it on I swear they sent me the wrong cover. After an hour I finally got her on and promptly ripped the two front seams the next morning taking it off.

I'll have to get back to you on Q-1.

Q-2: Put a mf towel under the areas making contact with the paint and cover and scratching. That should help.

Thanks, my girlfriend mentioned the same solution to Q2 while I was typing the thread. I have yet to get a reasonable sounding answer to Q1 from anyone yet, so I thank you for looking into it.
