I too have heard great things about the new xpel film, and we can get that for you if you'd like. I wouldn't worry about the install, as it'll be done by one of the best installers down here. As for "look" of the film, since your paint is near perfect, you will notice more orange peel and a more plastic look. But as mentioned above, film is an excellent insurance policy against most rock chips and the unforeseen "haters" with the sharp objects.

To be the devil's advocate here, how many people have had their cars keyed? In all our years of business, I think a handful of our clients ever had their cars repainted because someone keyed it.

Also, if you wrap the whole car, take into consideration dents. Since the body is mostly aluminum, if you get an odd dent in the door, say someone's bumper leaves a softball dent, the tech cannot heat treat the metal to soften it and massage the dent out. You'll need body work. We've had a few situation where that's come up.

Like I said, we'll talk more when you call, but lots to think about. My job is to help make the right decision for YOU by listening to your concerns and pointing you in the right direction by giving you facts from our experience.

I personally have had my vehicles keyed three times and all of them occured when I lived in SoCal. Once on my G35 coupe I had the hood keyed... all on the film adn thank god becaue it was pearl white... a diffcult color to match. The second and third times my 2004 Viper was keyed. Both times they got areas that werent covered adn the paint never matched perfectly. The factory paint on my 2004 was perfect... no orange peel at all. So when it was resprayed it never fully matched. So it did hurt the resale when I sold it.

I really dont understand your comment "plastic look". If a good film is used and installed properly it will actually look like a deeper clear coat. There is no "plastic look" at all. Also I have a Jeep SRT-8 that had the bumper stomped in (one night in Santa Barbara). It had the film on there and was dented pretty deeply. It pulled right out and you couldnt tell it had been kicked in. Why a normal panel cant have a dent removed is beyond me as they push it out through the underside of the panel. The film wouldnt affect that at all.

Bottom line is factory paint these days is very soft. Sure it may not be as easy for you to detail... or even cut into your busines since there are not paint defects to repair, but to keep the factory paint as perfect as possible paint protection film is the only way to go. its a huge industry (and growing) for a reason... people are seeingthe obvious benefits of going with a good film and a good installer.

Even if it is put on well and doesn't have the "plastic Look", you will have that line where the bra ends. Don't do that to your bentley...

Thats why you wrap the full panel. If you don't like the line you get the full hood and full fenders wrapped. Either way it's better than rock chips. Logan do a search. Their are numerous threads on here by Premier where they has wrapped entire cars. No lines at all. Do some research... I am sure you will be quiet impressed.

Not if he does full panels. I did the entire hood and only partial fenders. I wish I'd done full fenders and had no line like the hood. Easy. Looks good.

Even if you do full custom, there will always be areas if you look close, there will be a line. Unless we remove things like the front grill, side markers, remove bumper to tuck film under fender and bumper, etc. you will see the edges of the film near edges of joining panels. Even if all that is done, on the bumper, lower vent areas that have compound curves will require relief cuts which will be visible.

Just want to make sure people have a realistic view of full custom. Often, over-promising and setting expectations so high, disappoints the discriminating client or one that's OCD. With that said, the work an experienced installer can accomplish is near-lineless.

I agree. Thats why it is important to check out the work first and educae youself on the product. But I find MOST OCD people would rather have a clear bra and see a few lines (with close inspection) than constantly be touching up chips and scratches.

Seems like most folks that have clear bra installed don't keep their vehicle long - just a couple of years - then dump it. I never had my FORD GT clear braed because I was afraid it would damage the paint over time - not taking any chances as I plan to keep the GT for many many years. I'll spend the money to have it touched up in the future

No chance at all of damaging the paint.

Different strokes, but I have clear bra on my Z06 and my Ford GT.. wouldn't consider leaving them bare.

I understand - also heard that the clear bra has to be removed and replaced periodically but I don't know anyone that has had a car with this stuff on longer than 5 years to get any details. 13K miles on my FGT after 5+ years (original owner) no clear bra and just a few chips - same for my 07 GT500. I've owned my 70 BOSS 302 for over 20 years never had clear bra and had it repainted just last year but not because of stone chips or driving damage. If was only going to keep a car for a couple of years I would probably have clear bra installed also.

First thing I do when I get a new car is get a clear bra....there are poor installers, so pick the right one.
