As many here have been aware, we specialize in the top tier products of our industry. In the past 14 months, we have been working alongside a manufacturer to create a truly unique window film for our exclusive clients and we have been fortunate enough that the owner of this McLaren to go with this product. The manufacturer of this product is Prestige Film Technologies (Prestige Film Technologies - Prestige Clear Guard, CarboniteHD, ClearVue, Image Capture Film, Screen Protector and ViewBlock) and the product is PhotoSync. We have been installing window film since 1997, so we have an idea of what quality is in the film world. This product is specifically unique due to its multi-layered coating that allows for the film's heat rejecting properties to improve as solar exposure intensifies. Simply put, the hotter it gets, the better this nano window film performs.

It's not simple window tint here fellas. This product's got some true performance #s to back it....98.5% IR (infrared rejection) even at 65% VLT (visible light transmission). For those not familiar with VLT, factory glass is rated at 85%-88% VLT...the higher the %, the lighter the product.

Enough talk about the #s. Here's our test:

On this McLaren, we applied the 45% PhotoSync to the sides. There is nothing on the windshield except a piece of 1'x1' sheet of 65% PhotoSync:

 

Exterior Temperature - 80 degrees

Approximately 4 minutes into the test, we measured the surface temperature of the dash where the film casts a shadow and the exposed dash area:

91.7 degrees - PhotoSync 65% coverage

103.1 degrees - uncovered area

 

Next, we take the surface temperature again:

22 Minutes 47 Seconds - PhotoSync 65% area reads 102 degrees

23 Minutes 9 Seconds - uncovered area reads 120 degrees

 

And now on to the seats. Remember the sides are installed with PhotoSync 45, so the performance would be even better than the 65 we placed on the windshield.

The passenger side seat had the sun shining on it for about 23 minutes whereas the driver's seat had direct sun exposure through windshield.
