I'd say no. For starters, it's not designed for automotive application. Second, I don't think you can find a pad to use that will have the polisher's shape. Tird, I've used that polisher to sand molding; it merely vibrates quickly. Good for sanding, not polishing a car. Your best bet it the porter cable 7424 polisher or a cyclo.

Ok thanks. I had it laying around so I just wanted to check. Im thinking of getting the PC7424. What other accessories would i need to get with it to get started? Im trying not to spend too much $$. I want to be able to get swirls out and make my cars shiny. For personal use only. Thanks.

If $$ is an issue, save up. You'll thank yourself. Don't waste your money on a cheap polisher, pads, and polish. The PC 7424 should be around $150, you'll need some Lake Country pads, usually around $15 or less each, and some Menzerna polishes. Depending on type and size, look to spend about $30-50 a bottle. It all depends on how bad the swirls are. If it's too deep, you'll need to have them professionally removed with a high-speed. But the PC and the products I mentioned should make a huge dent in bringing the paint back to life. PM me for more info.

+1 on the Menzerna. I would recommend starting with Menzerna Final Polish II with the black Lake Country Pad. If you have a lot of swirls, then you might want to start with Menzerna PO106FF before the FPII because it's formulated for Mercedes Ceramcoat. Follow it up with Pinnacle Soverign and a distilled water buff. Like Moe said though, if the scratches are too deep, you will need a pro to use a regular orbital instead of a DA polisher like the Porter Cable.

So I will proboby get this polisher because I have a 50 dollar amazon gift card.

http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-7...0072764&sr=8-1

What else do I need with it? And can i buy the rest localy? I havent found a single local store that carries polishers etc. I checked home depot, lowes, autozone, and pep boys.
