Full Leather – How Often Do You Condition?

My 996 TT S is the first car I've owned with a leather dash. How often do you condition the leather???

I would typically clean and condition your leather monthly. Or at the least everytime you do a full detail, its good to keep the leather clean and conditioned to prolong the life and look of your dash and seats and anything else wrapped in leather.

IllinoisPorsche is infamous around these parts
Phil -
On the 996 TT, I assume the only leather on the dashboard is the small piece directly above the instrument cluster/steering wheel. Is the rest of the dashboard vinyl (e.g.-area above glove box), and what would you treat this with?
Cheers,
Ben

I think your right its just above the cluster:

for a flat finish 1Z Einszett Leathercare:

for the plastic/vinyl part 1Z Cockpit:

With full leather, I believe the entire dashboard surface is leather -- all the way to the windshield.

I've got the full leather package on my 996 TT and that's confused me. I've never really been sure if the dash is all leather or partial leather. The dash area above the glovebox responds and looks much better when I've used Pinnacle vinyl & rubber protectant vs. a leather conditioner such as Z-10 or Lexol. Does anyone know for certain?
Cheers,
Ben

Here's the rule of thumb...if there's stitching involved, then full leather. On some TTs, the actual vent blinds are covered in leather too. On a 996/997 TT, or full leather option, the whole dash is leather. There is the plastic runner near the edge of the glass where the vents are that's plastic. Hope this helps guys. As far as I know, you can't go wrong with using a leather conditioner on everything; even if vinyl.

Moe, that sounds mostly right to me. My vent blinds are leather -- heck, even my remote mirror buttons are leather. I think even the surface closest to my windshield is also leather. It's stitched too. I can take a pic if anyone cares.
