car transport to germany

Couldn't find much info on this so i will be posting in a couple of different places (if mods allow it).

so after 11 years in the US the time has finally come for me to move back to good old Germany. i know there are some forum users that have shipped their cars overseas. i am a little paranoid because i have heard a bunch of horror stories and want to make sure that my car arrives in the same condition.

so who can recommend a good shipping company? is it really bad for the car to ship via container due to non airtight containers + sea wind/weather?

shipping would be from southern califonia to germany.

thanks

I shipped 3 cars back to Germany in closed containers. No problems. The company that did that for me was ITO. If you need a contact there let me know.
Thanks
Dan

Rinkers is a really good choice, I can advice it for others who need to ship a car. I had a deal with this company in 2009 - I needed to ship my car from US to Lithuania (Europe). They are high-quality professionals!
