In LMP1, Audi runs the R10. I highly doubt Audi will run an R8 in GT2. Maybe a private team, but not Audi NA as their R10 program is the second most developed race car(s) behind Formula 1 cars.

Also, sweet car. Looks to be a modified challenge car or street car. Probably running in SCCA or something.

He's not talking about Ferrari Challenge Series. He's talking about ALMS. There are several private teams that run F430 GT's in GT2, not the F430 Challenge.

pretty car. challenge car races are pretty silly. you do have a couple quick guys, but most of the cars lap at a pace that Honda Challenge cars do. Its a shame not to have them driven near the limit of the ability of the cars.

Am I jealous? sure.

It is a 430 GT. The 430 Challenge does not have a rear wing.

Very nice catch miniD. I was thinking about the old R8 and forgot when it got the TDI it became the R10

due to the fact that it has the built in air jacks (you can see it in the shot of the rear of the car) this seems to be a GT car, possibly with some challenge bodywork on it though. I thought the GT front end was alot more aggressive

Both the Challenge and the GT versions have the built in air jacks.

My friends just e-mail me, he saw this guy at Laguna Seca, CA. He was having electrical problems with the car and skipped two of his sessions. Ouch!
