However, I am surprised that so many think that a 360 can't challenge a CS!
Remember that there is a great deal involved in marking a more expensive vehicle, and part of that is creating an illusion of one upmanship.
I am suggesting that a CS, eventhough it has a little more HP and in reality only slightly lighter than a 360 when fluids are added, could be very close to the capability of a 360.
I don't think that' so hard to believe that a 360 could exceed a CS.

Never, did i say, i believe it - i'm telling you what i saw - go ahead... watch the video (if you can actually figure out how to download it) - i'm merely playing the advocate, in hopes of finding out how this happened
This isn't a made up story champ, there is (read slowly) actual footage, of such an act happening
So i can go to bed knowing that i witnessed, on video, a stock 360 F1 out run...TWO... challenge stradales, and yes, no one can question me on that again... not even you slugger...

That was a worst case though. Most dyno higher, I have seen it, either way comparing a modded M3 engine to that is apples to oranges IMO.

I thought the CS was quite a bit faster than a 360 - like 997GT3 fast - if this is not the case, I may not really want a CS. It would be sad if my sports car couldn't keep up with my sedan in a straight line.

Here's an interesting one:
In the current thread in the off-topic section of the forum, there is a thread going around
Ford GT Pursuit: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t-pursuit.html
That clip is taken from a video called Super Speeders 3 - Well i was able to find Super Speeders 2 online: http://www.mininova.org/tor/496711
In Super Speeders 2 - A 2000 360 Modena (F1) races, not one, but two, different Challenge Stradale's on the highway, and wins against both of them but a fairly good margin
They decided to dyno the 360 and it comes to 333 RWHP, which figuring an 18% drivetrain loss, comes out to 390HP (10 down from Ferrari's 400 figure) and weighs in at 3170lbs.
A CS weighs around 2800lbs. and has 420hp - vs. a 3170lbs. and 390hp car, the CS should dominate...
Any thoughts?

doesn't the CS have several shifting and launch modes? I remember an old friend/CS owner telling me he would only get 4 launches out of teh clutch in the full race launch mode. The CS does have a much improved F1 system, but in amateur hands I think straight line times would be similar. Although there's no clutch, there is some finess to driving them properly and to their full potential.

"You can buy speed and you can buy HP, but you can't buy style or class"
-me.
Give me enough money and I can make a breadtruck outperform a Ferrari. You don't buy a Ferrari to be the fastest or have the most HP. A Corvette is always a better buy if that's all you want. Then you've got older used cars with aftermarket mods. A slighlty modified 1994 TT Toyota Supra can put out 500 HP and easily beat a Ferrari around the track for a total price of $30,000; the $ vs. POWER vs. PERFORMANCE equation doesn't apply here.
You buy a Ferrari for the entire lifestyle experience (not that I agree with it mind you)...but a BMW/Corvette/Supra/etc/etc can't do the one thing a Ferrari does almost everytime; get a girls panties wet at the stop light regardless of the tool sitting behind the wheel (no offense to owners on here who are the 10% exception).
