With so much heat from the friction (and not to mention the thermal expansion), I wonder if they warp and how bad it is after such heavy use.

That is a really amazing pic. For something to glow it is so hot from friction is amazing.

Reminds me of the Petit LeMans in Atl. on one of the turns after the straight. All the cars brakes are glowing soming into the corner.
