355 vs 360
I've owned a F355 Spider and currently own a 360. My advice would be go for the 360 even if you have to wait for prices to fall some more. My brother owns my 355 now and when I drove it after I spent some time in my 360 I viewed it as a top down cruiser. With the right exhaust system a 360 sounds great also.
BTW: My brother bought my 355 thinking that since I spent almost $20K in the last 18 months on service he wouldn't need to spend much for the two years he planned on keeping it - Wrong!!!

From a looks perspective I think they both have beautiful unique styling ques. I could easily be happy with either from that side of the equation.
If you want a spider, better off with the 360. The top function is MUCH better and more reliable. Lots of issues with the the 355 top and VERY expensive to fix (25K to replace) .. you have to put that stupid cover on it too. Much better off going with a GTS (targa top) 355 if want to go that way.

P.S. Ferrarichat.com is an excellent resource. I just came from there and this is my first post.
I recently traded in my 997TT for a 430 and I am looking to sell the Porsche OEM indoor cover to someone who is interested......

Yes, a high class problem for sure. That is one amazing picture - two things come to mind, one is how great it looks and two, that saltwater on the car!
Thanks
Thanks
Both nice choices I think.
A) Both cars look great imho. I would like to add a 355 one day without question they are stunning cars. The sound is awesome following them.
B) The 360 handles better in all situations. Top down driving in a 355 is over under 120mph unless you are a massachist. The 360 can be driven no problem top down above 170. The newer cars are better. It's just a fact.
C) You will pay pay pay on 355's. It's not a rumor. It's owners saying it. They are very expensive to maintain. Fchat is a very good leader on that one. It's just reality
D) I've looked for the better part of a year and a Good 355 Spider really will cost you 80k-90k after you spend the 10-20k for Service, Manifolds and all other small issues. Some guys with the low mileage cars without service won't even sell below 80k. I've found the market on these cars is VERY odd to say the least. From $50k to $100k....wtf? That's all I can say. I know the the Last 100 Fiorano 1999's all carry a premium.
That being said I know you can get a Good 360 Spider for 100k now. Services every 3 years for the belt service are your main issue. $3000 instead of the $15000 a 355 will cost you.
ROD btw nice photo....Who cares about the salt you washed it anyway afterwards I'm sure...

It's all in the eyes of the beholder I guess. Both cars will be an awesome ownership experience.. like someone mentioned, service on the 355 may be more. Me? I prefer the 355 I think it looks and sounds better
+1 Wow Everyone of you guys with 355's they sound SOOOOOO GOOOOOODDDDD
Thanks for the input - yesterday at a show I saw a perfect 23k 355 Spider, red and tan. I am hung up on red so it caught my eye when it pulled in from a far distance. Tubi and high flow cats - it sounded amazing.
There is a black 355 spider with 15k miles at Ferrari of Washington, heard they are asking 79k and it will need a major within a year, sounds pretty steep although I'm still unsure about the best source of market prices. Someone at the show said they thought $60k was the right price to pay. Also hears that Ferrarichat.com is a good forum.
Also heard that Competitizone http://www.competizionecars.com/ is a great shop with a Master Mechanic that came from Ferrari of Washington.
One thing is for sure I think a Ferrari is now at the top of the list although with the others under consideration they could sit under a cover in the driveway. With a 355 or 360, something is going to have to move to the driveway to make room.

,lol, i suggest you buy what you feel is the best price and money for you. I personally would go with the 360, it still looks very modern considering you could get one for 59
, like S14roller said in the thread earlier. I say 360 all the way, in 99 it still has a strong modern look in 2009.
