I thought I would post on here on my dad's behalf to gather some info on getting one of these cars. He currently has a 2013 458 he got a little bit of ago and when he found out about the special coming out he jumped on the chance to get one. Now he put his place in line at number 8 already, but what do you guys think will be the odds of him truly getting the car? I heard it will be roughly 10-12 per dealership! Is this true?

Also how many units will be built? I can't seem to find a single piece of info on that anywhere on the internet

 

I would think that if he's on the list, he would get it, but the wait may be long (18 mos is what I'm hearing). The dealer would be able to give you guys a better idea in timing.

 

It seems like the dealer is kinda unsure of the info at this point. Yea we expect a wait, the regular 450 took forever, so at least he has that to play around with until the new one comes in.

 

Sounds like a problem that many of us wish we had.

 

A friend of mine ordered his 3 weeks ago. Sat at the configurator for
4 hours. Was told he would have it in Feb. 2015 and that initial projected
production run will be 499 units.
I have heard they more than doubled the projected 458 coupe runs.

Getting mine next month but I get special allocations. 18 months seems to be typical. 12 months if you have bought more than a few.
