How to drive a F1 car

In a F1 car can you?
- While in any gear
- as an example = 5th and approaching a turn,
- flip both paddles - puts you in N
- blip the gas
- slide into 2nd by hitting the F1 paddle.
- then accelerate

I currently have a 6 speed '02 porsche C4cab - with lot's and lots of mods with the exhaust and have a get time and love the ability to blip a car when changing gears, up or down shifting. I like the F1 technology in the Ferrari, but want to have FULL control of the car, as a 6 speed.
I drove a F1 and when down shifting, you JUST hit the down and wait for the computer and trans to do the rest???
Any thoughts???

There is no reason to go to neutral... you can blip the throttle mid shift. Takes a few hours to get used to the timing, but works perfectly

not that i am a know it all...but i have gotten adjusted to using the f1...

you basically flip through the gears, and the car's brain does the rest...

i.e.

if you're crusing on I95 in 6th gear, and want to down shift to let's say 4th gear and really punch it, you simply click down two times (dont take your foot off the gas pedal) , the car will auto engage 4th gear, when you feel the gears catch, you can mash the gas pedal as much or as little as the power you want from the car.

go drive one again and make sure to flip the "sport" switch. It makes the shifting much faster. The downshifts are also rev-matched perfectly and you are good to go like taco bell.

When driving an F1, Is it as excitng as a manual??? It seems that it would be like driving an automatic and just holding on.

I find it more exciting driving my dads f1 360 then my 6 speed. Sure some of it is because he has 100hp more, but the shifting is so much more precise and crisp. Everytime I shift the f1 at high revs it puts the biggest grin on my face. (It's so good it should be illegal)

The f1 shifts faster than anyone could manually shift so from a pure speed point of view its better. Plus you can keep both hands on the wheel and shift which is great for high speed traffic weaving.

Go to the track for that.

I think f1 will shine on back road driving because of the reason that two hands stay on the wheel and it will automatically rev-match in hard turns.

It's also harder to steal, because anyone not "in the know" will never figure it out.

I have a question. The two F1 cars I've started seem to be unlocked after the key is in the ignition? Can someone explain how to start one?

I think we need an F1 instructional video from a willing owner

Even though the door is open, don't you still have to press the remote button prior to starting it???

yes, the alarm will lock the ignition if it hasn't been disarmed. if you go to start it and the alarm hasn't been turned off, the car won't start.

so...u just hit the remote, it'll beep, and you press the brake and turn key.

the 355 works the same way...
