I pulled the bumper off of the 458 Ferrari and this is what I saw. I noticed a burning smell coming from the car but could not determine what it was. Then I pulled the bumper. What do you think it is?
Interesting. Looks like it's melted the undercoat. Not sure what treatment the metal sub-bumper gets, but since it's only on the left side, I'm wondering if the left bank is running too rich. Maybe you're igniting unburned fuel. Stock exhaust? I'd contact dealer/FNA. Ferraris do have a tendency to crisp up. A LOT of heat back there. And, as fittings get brittle from heat cycling, they do fail. There have been some write-offs due to fires in F40s, along with others. Generally, though, I'm not aware of any 458s exhibiting this.
