White seems to be a very popular colour for exotics in the Far East...why is that ?
White is extremely popular, at least in Japan, because Japanese savor purity and simplicity in design, and see white as an expression of simplicity. There are a number of children's stories that also relate to this - for example, it is considered bad etiquette to flavor one's white rice with soy sauce, because it is impure. It's not much of a stretch to see why they find beauty in white cars, and it reaches many electronics as well, like special edition white Playstation 2s or PSPs (probably a considerable factor in why the original iPod was so popular in Japan). Luckily, the term or concept "white" doesn't carry quite the same racial implications there as it does in the US. I think its considered beautiful more for design purposes.
