Why all these E-Gear and F1 clutch replacements?
I don't understand this. Every Gallardo and 355 with less than ten thousand miles I look at has had the clutch replaced. Why? I thought the whole point of these robotic systems was to eliminate driver error? I know regular manuals last longer.

The whole point of flappies is to largely allow people who can't drive a fast car drive one, and for the boy racers to feel like they're able to rev match as well as someone who can actually drive.
The systems themselves are still fairly "dumb" compared to the human brain with some experience, and driving a paddle car in any kind of slowly moving traffic is a good way to cook it in short order.

Managed a race team....owner had a 01 360 modena F1........That thing was constantly at the dealer for "new software" for the trans/clutch.
Definatley had some quirks.
OH FYI, if you brake tq it at the line and don't launch (i.e. just take foot of gas) the car had a tendancy to die while still in first gear. Coulnd't restart and was stuck in first gear....after reading through that idiotic owners manual (worst layout ever), you must put the key in position 2 for 10 seconds place foot on brake and pull both paddles (if you didn't put your foot on the brake at the right time, or pull the paddles at the right time, it would come out of gear but not tell the computer or do other goofy stuff)
UGH was a pita. (the CS's was way better). Haven't driven a 599 but from the audio I've heard on them , they shift like whoa
