According to the history books, the first Thanksgiving Feast occurred back in 1621 but it was not until 1863, some 200 years later that President Abraham Lincoln proclaims “Thanksgiving Day” as a national holiday. The lessons that come with this understanding are significant and many but in this instance, we will focus on two of the simplest.1) You don’t need a Presidential proclamation to give thanks, and 2) after all is said and done; at the crux of giving thanks is the simple pleasure of being. The pilgrims found this comprehension through incredible strive, strife and self discovery which, for better or worse laid the foundation for not only a National Day of Thanks but a country that in many aspects leads the world in charitable contributions. Events like The Orlando Automotive Club’s Cars and Café , embodies this ideal by not only giving 98% of the population a glimpse at what only 2% typically experience but by partnering with Food Banks and other charitable causes to help those who need it the most. So after you give thanks for all the good in your life, please stop by The Orlando Automotive Club’s Cars and Café @ The Route 46 Entertainment District, where the breakfast is awesome, the lunch is to die for and Giving Thanks is the modus operandi.
