MAXJAX owner's install advice please

Getting ready to order one on the $2K Costco promo (through 11/30/14)
and am wondering about the spacing you decided on from the outside to outside
profile on the uprights?

Have a 991, but also a couple of new Acura MDX SUV's too that I'd want to be able to lift.

With the MAXJAX are you able to open the doors while it's in the air with your Porsche?

I have read many threads on 6 spd & Rennlist, but it's become a blurr
so refresh my memory Please. Looks like a great product!

THX

Red Alert is infamous around these parts
i wouldn't lift mdx on it, the maxjax won't lift very high and depending on your floor as well.

MaxJack

I bought a MaxJack about 4 years ago when I got my AM V8 Vantage. I bought the maxjack thinking I'd being moving it out of the way after using it. It turns out I've left it bolted to the floor the whole time. In hindsight I wish I'd spent a few hundred more for a permanent 2 post lift that would lift the car higher since I don't use the portability feature of the MaxJack. My garage ceiling is 12' high and I bought wall mount door openers so I'd have more overhead clearance.

I've also put my F150 4X4 up on it with no problem. My son and I use the lift 6 - 10 times per month. (Doing a MR2 turbo engine install right now.) I've had to tighten the anchor bolts only once since the initial install.

Installation wasn't bad. I rented a big hammer drill with a new bit from Home Depot to install the concrete anchors. The whole installation took a full evening and I did it alone.

Overall I've liked the product.

Depends on the car whether you can open a door and get in when it's on the lift. I usually leave a door open when I position the car for lifting if I'm going to need to get inside while it's lifted.
