Not a big fan of it for some reason, it gets dirty, expands with the heat and makes fun noises. I just like the look of a natural floor a bit more. Just have to decide how much more I want to put in the house as I've been thinking about building a new custom home soon instead of investing more into this one.

I agree, to me it was a lot better than being cliche and having "1250whp" on one and "950whp" on the other which was my 2nd choice

In TX a month ago it made 849 I believe. There is a bit more left in it with the nitrous so it would likely make low 900s.

Wow, I love that M Coupe. I can't believe it though, that's the exact wheel/brake configuration I'd do, too. Is it S54 motor?

If you ever get tired of it, I'd seriously consider buying it.

It's a S52 engine with most of the boltons.

one Supra is no longer a resident of the garage so I may need to get a SUV now to fill the spot

I'll keep your offer in mind, a local guy has first dibs.

Single now, so the Silver one is gone with the girl. I am selling the Copper one soon to replace it with a Porsche if all goes as planned.

O sorry to hear Wes. However, it does give you an excuse to fill that extra spot in the garage.

I have just now started to consider a Supra as a project car, and your provided info over on SupraForums as helped tremendously in leaning towards that way. You have really built a beauty.

If I was to go for a project, one in which I would probably repaint, is there a year that you would prefer or just the best condition I can find? I know the 97-98's are sought after pretty hard, but if I'm not going to keep factory paint, is it worth buying one in the 35-45K range? Thanks for your reply man.

Buy a 97-98, spend as much as you can on the car and keep factory paint. A quailty repaint will cost you quite a bit and you'll feel "scared" to damage it. I think with factory paint you cna just beat on it a bit more and the 97-98s are usually in much better shape. Buy the most car you can OEM, it'll save you a ton in the long run in the misc parts (window seals, interior trim pieces, headlights, taillights, etc)

Thanks for the advice. I really want a Saphire Blue Pearl, but don't feel like spending 50-80K for a example of one....... prices on these are just out of control!

EDIT: One more thing: If you had to do it again, would you have started on a 996TT platform or still stuck with the Supra platform as your weekend mod project?

I like the 996TT as a short term. The only problem is every 4-5 years the next model comes out Ala 997TT and half the owners dump the cars into the market and the price drops like a fly, both stock and modified. For the type of driving I do though which is mainly in 50mph or slower zones on the way to the office, the 996TT is a better choice for me currently.

As far as the Supra, they no longer make them (and likely won't replace them anytime soon regardless of rumors), and it's one of hte few cars that doesn't seem to loose any value, and actually increases in value with modifications (when done properly you usually get 75-80% of what you put in to the car). The only problem I have with them is the crowd that own them are usually much younger, some can't afford the car and let them get beat to the ground, and if you want parts you have to deal with one of 2-3 shops.

That being said in the short term a 996TT (and leave near stock, get the 997TT when the prices drop, etc), if I wanted a car to keep and enjoy I would get a 97-98 Supra and modify it slightly over time and enjoy it.

Thanks, as the old saying goes, all is well that ends well. We're still great friends just at different points in our lives at this point.
