Vivid says we can get a discount just for playing along, and that would apply to cabs as well. However, we get the $50 discount, to $250, if we get 10 of the same part number. The reason is that THEY get their larger discount when they place an order for 10 of the same part number.

So - we're still at 5 for the coupe version, and the same part will work with the 997.1 and 997.2, as well as a few other models.

We need 4 more for the bigger discount and I pinged a mod over on Rennlist yesterday to see if it made sense to somehow post it over there. I have not heard back yet. Also, I was thinking of reaching out to the Boxster and Cayman guys here to gauge interest, as the same part seems to apply to the 987 series, so I just reviewed my PM discussion with GT3 Chuck when setting this up and it seems like I can post a link the the group buy in the main forums. I'll also bump the thread in the 997 forum. What would you all think of giving it one more week based on that to get 4 more for the 987/997_coupe? Let me know how people feel about a 7/7/10 deadline.

FYI you guys may be wasting your money. Just some info for those who are interested in buying this for the simple window up/down function through the key. I had a friend with the PIWIS scanner who was able to make that same functionality without any mods. He was able to connect and change some parameters to enable that function.

 

This all started because we want chirp acknowledgement when we lock- unlock our cars...for me, the rolling up and down the windows is a toy that I will never use...

Thanks for your opinion, but we are doing this for a different reason.

No, the part that is used on a cab is different, and we need 10 of the same part. We still need 4 more. I posted a thread in the Boxster forum, but it doesn't seem to have generated any interest yet
