[PICS] 997 gt3 super light

I was at the high plains raceway for the weekend with the porsche club and saw this amazing GT3 and thought about sharing some pix with you guys.

mod:
18'' CCW wheels
toyo tires
steering wheel
K&N air intake
straight pipe
GT3 seats
GT3RS wing
the whole interior stripped out
I'M SURE I HAVE MISSED SOMETHING

lb400 saved

hope you guys like it

How did it sound with the straight pipes?

It appears that the car still has the stock glass rear window - you would think if he went to all that effort to strip out the interior+sound deadening he would have upgraded to the RS polycarbonate rear window.

I like the harness bar Vs the having the full rear roll bar - probably saves around 35 lbs - who has time to think about safety when there is weight to be saved.

Actually looks good stripped out! With the door panels on it still manages to be classy and mean!

I think I see PCCB's.... probably a nimble little devil!

I was once told by a Porsche mechanic that simply removing the carpeting would trim about 100lbs from the car. Don't know how true it is, but it makes sense. I would have tossed the radio as well tho.

I have the Tequipment rear roll bar, I would be surprised if it weighted 35lbs, let alone 35lbs more then the harness bar.

I agree that it is a nice bar though.

Agreed................. You want some sort of roll bar/ half cage.

What is your life worth? for .5 seconds..........

Take a look at our projects page there are several GT3's and RS's with our various versions of our roll bars/ half cages.

For more info on roll bars and half cages go to

I found it here. Seems like a 25hp boost. Check out the dyno chart link.

Looks interesting. Anyone else have one? Thx.
