Patrick Dempsey's RS (Media hate)
As stated earlier Mr Dempsey races a mustang for Hypersport in the Koni Challenge series GS class, sharing driving duties with Rick Skelton.
a few weeks ago at VIR myself and a few other team members walked from the parking lot to the paddock with Mr Dempsey and a few of his guys, he seemed like a nice fellow(from what i could tell in a 5 min walk anyway!!).
As well as koni Challenge , next year Hypersport is going to campaign a Mazda rx-8 GT class car, which they debuted at Miller last month, taking a 10th place finish, with Dempsey as one of the drivers. I believe Joe Foster and Charles Espenlaub were his co-drivers.

Just saw him on Huntley Dr. @ Melrose, I think that he is one of the only 7GT3 RS owners driving around LA with blacked-out windows and no front lip.

Meet Patrick at the starting grid for the Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona. Very personable and humble guy. Seems to really like driving with the big guys. When I was standing with him some crazy guy starts interviewing him and says "hey, you race cars." Patrick says "yes." Then the interviewer says "you're an actor?" Patrick replies "yes." The next question posed to Patrick is "Do you know Paul Newman?" Patrick says "yes, I've heard of him." Everyone started cracking up. It was very funny.
And as fate would have it, someone from People magazine snapped a pic at that moment and I got myself pictured in People magazine next to Patrick Dempsey. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I was a real doctor, not just playing one, and that we both drive the same car.

As stated above, I now have some newfound respect for Mr. Dempsey. Great taste in automobiles in the normally clouded celebrity scene. That car defaintely does need a lip though.
Yeah...it looks really funny, I need to rent it one of these days (means add to my library
)
