Agreed.

You have to be a team or a known long time porsche racing customer to get a car. Less than 50 cars coming to USA 250 plus people on the waiting list.
Porsche wants these cars raced and not put away and speculated on.
Thats why they are selling them to reputable teams who have established relationships with the Porsche Motorsport.

We have 3 new cars coming for 2008. Should be here in the next few weeks.
Anxious to get them in and start prepping for Speed GT next year.

More MAJOR announcements to follow later this month!!

Will post pictures once they arrive.

As An FYI completely bone stock 1 year old (40-50 hour) 997GT3 cup cars will sell for more than what they cost new.

Porsche has mastered there racing program!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope thats a little more information

New Zealand has had their 08 cup cars for a month and a half. We were the first ones to receive them. However a few of them arrived the day before the first round of the series, pretty tight.

Porsche Motorsport GmBH came down to check on the cars, few had minor problems.

Tight, tight cars.

How have the new cars fared down under?
Is there a noticeable improvement over last years car?

I'm a little curious about this:
quote:" The 26 units of the 911 GT3 Cup built for the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup feature a special exhaust system with an even more striking sound pattern reminiscent of the Formula 1 racing scene"

We never got the 07 cars as there wasnt enough to go around, so we got the first of the 08 cars.

But they are running well. I doubt there is much of a different time wise, considering the 997 are only about 1-2 seconds faster per lap than the 996, and thats in a international drivers hands.
