Looks very nice, but why is there straight tubes on the passenger side and bent on the drivers side??

I think you misunderstood me. I am talking about the cross (right word??) next to the doors. On the passenger side there is one straight tube and two short tubes welded to it but on the drivers side there are two whole tubes bent to form an x...
Neither choice is better than the other but I am wondering why not use the same method on both sides??

It was answered correctly. The drivers side is actually 4 tubes welded together with gusseting but the center of the "X" is angled away from the driver. The reason for this is in the case of a side impact for the "X" to come closer to the driver it would actually need to spread the chassis and cage. You want all of the bars/tubes as far away from the driver as possible The passanger side is just a basic intersection as there will be no passenger.

grussell, I can tell you are real pragmantic and meticulous by how your build is going. I just noticed you have a 996tt airbox, is that the new setup?
