Hey Rocket_Man,

I shall let Watt speak for himself. Suffice it to say my incident caused Watt some problems. The crickets were really out there, happens every few years. I personally didn't have problems with them,we ran fast and well. Almost well anyway. Driving friend's Viper GT and the engine left bank left go as I was cruising aboout 165. The car set up a radical shake and ten quarts of oil flooded the left side tires. I was fortunate to get that puppy reined in and stopped ok. We had an engine fire,a rear deck lid oil fire and an electrical fire. All this created a "red flag" situation. The whole dam thing read like a comic book. After a restart,God sent lightning bolts which caused a major fire, roadside. Another delay. Then a very fast car crashed @ 200 going back. Never have I seen such **** poor luck for everybody. We did have fun however. Our fractional HP gas powered blender mixed about twenty gallons of courage for the racers on Thursday and Friday. We did fifty racks of ribs outdoors at race headquarters and generally had a good time.

Cheers,

R

P.S.
never_ever shall I drive Detroit Iron again. Friend promises to bring Enzo next time. I will hang with the Ruf..

Alluded Chris, Alluded...

yeah i broke the law going back to help Roland... but no biggie. Car ran great once i got the pressures, and i got plenty of high speed miles in in the drive to/from, practise and saturday, and got as much racing as anybody.

Roland kept it on the road shiny side up when that viper grenaded him... no mean feat... i wont comment on my guess on his speed at the time.

there are gaps in the vaunted total course - course worker coverage of at least 2 spots i found, one where roland stopped, [and one between gate 39 and 40]. this gap may have caused an overreaction to roland's grenade as they couldn't see him or communicate sufficiently to stay green. under the circumstances the correct decision was made

Hey Watt, glad to see you were only DQ'd. From the way other posts said "I'll let Watt speak for himself" it sounded more ominous.

Was definitely an eventful weekend. At least no one got hurt.

Nothing like the rush of high-speed for the sustained periods in ORR.

Watt....glad you made it back safely. Your 993 TT was awesome.

I'm still tired. Was out 'til 4AM on Sunday night after the banquet. Got up at 6:30AM for the 8 hour drive home.

Who's going to Elko in August? We need some new Porsche team members.
