Drove GT2 today
My friend stopped by and we went for a drive. I actually drove most of the time. Unf#$%believable!
Feels like a GT3RS on super steroids. Exhaust sounds like a 997TT but slightly louder. Quieter than a GT3RS. Rides similarly but rear tires very meaty.
Controls, pedal, and steering effort and feel are similar to the RS.
New seats are very racy and great looking. Firm and absolutely clamps you in place. Love their looks.
Handling is similar but grip level is higher than RS. Brakes are same as RS with PCCB.
Engine feels docile up to 3000. Beyond that, it picks up speed very quickly. Beyond 5000, its insane. At 6500, I ran out of road and had to slow down. Can't imagine what it would be like at redline with a broken-in car and the correct octane (car was filled with at most 91 octane). It was like a never-ending streak of increased acceleration. There are few roads around me where I can floor it for more than a few seconds without some risk of traffic or cops.
Overall, incredible grip and crazy thrust.
One can drive this with medium throttle at under 4K and it feels like a normal Porsche. Go with a heavy foot and beyond 5K and its an out-of-this-world experience. Unbelievable!
We are gonna go get a tank of 100 tonight and have another go.
Motor Trend was not exaggerating!

Rides way better than the last GT2, and I think way better looking. Seats are way cooler too. Launch control should be nice.
AWESOME review man, I can appreciate what you mean by not being able to wind out any gear but 2nd in these car's on the streets lol, they cover so much damn ground so quickly!
I cannot wait to get my hands on one!

For years I had white pretty much to myself in the GT-3 models. In fact most comments would start with, "cool car, can't you get it in a nice color"? Now everyone is on the white bandwagon! Good for you! Then I order the RS without the stripes, IMO it is the cleanest, best look. Now others are seeing the light, no kidding I should get a royalty!
I wonder if the GT3 RS may be more fun to drive with the instant throttle response, 8500 RPM redline and sound? I see some people getting tired of the "rubbery" turbo throttle response, lower 6700 RPM redline, and muted exhaust sound, especially when driving under 100 MPH or so.
What do you think? Does it seem the GT2 is missing some thrill after driving a GT3, GT3 RS or even a CGT? Personally, I think the GT3 RS and CGT are very similar in thrill unless you're going flat-out in a straight line at 100 MPH+. Then the CGT or GT2 might be more exciting.
