It sounds like the answer is overwhelmingly the GT2. Thanks everyone. If anyone else has an opinion keep them coming.

Drive both before you decide. Many long-time owners prefer the GT3RS over the GT2. Mainly because of sound, 8500 rpm redline, gearing, and instant throttle response. Also, the GT3RS is very rare and generates much excitement when seen.

Hard to decide. GT2 for the streets and RS for the track.

Depends on what you're after. Definately a lot more tuning potential in the GT2. So if you're a modder or looking for big HP numbers GT2 is the way to go.

If you rev to the same rpm, you will be going WAY too fast on the same strip of road. That does not mean I don't do it, though.

The RS wins in the looks dept in that it looks hot in the wild colors with the decals and wheels, but the GT2 can look just menacing and purposeful, so its a tossup and a personal preference.

In terms of driving, the GT2 gives up a slight throttle response at very low rpm (under 2000) but more than makes up for it with searing thrust that builds as the rpm rises and never quits up to redline, and a built-in Launch Control that is a fun asset to have. That speed in intoxicating. I doubt anyone that has both in their garage will have much reason to drive the RS once they get their GT2.
BINGO! As 930man mentioned, theres such a thrill to trying to tame these beasts on the track, and slapping on a tune/lwfw and sick exhaust makes it even that much more rewarding, especially since a good exhaust and revving too 7200 or so gives much more added thrill to the experience!

Both cars are sick, I often find myself missing NA, and especially the sound of the GT3, but a GT2 done right can keep you just as content!

GT2, hands down. As much as I love the GT3, there is nothing like the breathtaking performance of the GT2.

I would expect the 997 version to be even better. Bill, perhaps YOU should try a GT2... my feeling is you would trade the RS in a heartbeat for one. It's like having the acceleration of your Ruf 993TT and the razor sharp handling of your GT3-RS. Can there be a better combo?

Maybe. Currently I have an interesting combo: CGT, GT3RS, CS, Ruf 993 Turbo R and E63. Needless to say, I'm not allowed to buy a GT2.

Normal TT,s are faster in the straits than RS,s and mod TT,s will pass you in the straits really BAD!!!
In the curves RS,s can handle a TT better but it will not be enough in the first strait section he will pass.

Matt,

Call Tym Switzer to discuss sound therapy....his exhaust is super (Woodster has it....see his thread with video from Tx2k8).

Hey terrance congrats man! That's a very awesome stable you got there.

I would love it if you'd post pics of all your bad boys.

Good luck and enjoy them.
