A normal weekend away with the Titanic Boys
My Dear Colonial Cousins,
Just to to let you know what we old boys here at the heart of the Empire get up to at the weekend, I a have attached a quick snap and a write up from one of our more "seasoned" hands.
In case you wondered he was driving the big yellow one...
I have to stop working so long and hard and have to get out a bit more!
Thanks to Gary for the pics and Steve R for the write up, if you want more subscribe to titanic.co.uk/gt3. Not a forum, just a bunch of guys having a laugh (usually at my expense, Magic Roundabout anyone?)
The car is beautifully made and the engine is very strong. Power delivery is linear and not at all 'cammy'and the grunt is what you would expect from 600 plus BHP and the chasis copes with it so well you actually feel frustrated that it hasn't got more power. Turn in is excellent, better than the RS and you can abuse it over higher curbs, which is a real no no with my car but this is a lot to do with the soft road set up of the GT. Under initial braking the carbon brakes feel lifeless but once you build up pressure they bite hard. Reasonable stability under braking but a little weight transfer in the more heavy beaking zones make the tail a bit loose.
Turn in is fantastic, even better than my car. The car feels soft through the corner and you have to be very gentle on the power as you build towards the exit. The tyres are absolute dog **** and the bloody things wouldn't stop squeeling and churping all around the lap.
If somebody was mad enoughto put a track biased set up on the thing and some slicks, you could go GT racing in it. The chassis copes with the power so well it is a doddle to drive..............er except when I got it a bit sideways at the end of the
pit straight.
As a measure of the sheer speed of the thing, I did an entire lap in 4th gear and still kept up with the RS's - how mad is that??
Thanks to Sean for the chance to drive his wonderful car!
