997 GT2 pricing?

Folks-

I was offered a nicely prepared (basalt black, black wheels, everything carbon fiber, etc) incoming car this July at MSRP. I really like my current drive, so probably would not trade (plus some $$) for a GT2.

Is there some price relaxation in the marketplace for this model?

Thanks - Gerry

I think you answered your own question! And since your info is current it looks like the "premium" is gone, and the fall is about to begin.

Is is worth it to swap an RS straight across for a GT2? I think that would be a trade you might regret, but tempting.

Some dealers are trying to convince customers to drink the over MSRP Kool Aid, but the market is falling fast to MSRP.

You could see this coming a mile away.

Should I pay way over msrp for a GT2?
Should I buy real estate now?
Should I buy light crude futures now?

History tends to repeat itself.

By mid-2010 you will easily see a 2008 GT2 for $150K-160K range. Or even lower for those high mileages.

In California, they are still fetching well over sticker.

Not too many around, even in car crazy LA.

Call Chris at Premier in San Diego... he has a white one for sale and with prices falling the way you say, he will surely blow it out at MSRP or below!

No one is going to sell below MSRP! If they are tell them to call me I have buyers : )

Both of our cars are sold at MSRP no mark up just becasue we dont do that. Our sister store sold a GT2 at $40K over. And I hear the customer sold it for even more!!!

I for one do not belive the GT2 market will do anywhere close to the GT3RS but with no 09 allocatons you never know!

You didn't really think I was serious, did you?... They are asking $259,000, which I believe is $55,000 over, for that car.

So, I now have gotten a second Porsche dealer to offer me a well optioned 997 GT2 at MSRP, for a total of $202K - I have never been anywhere on a list for this model and don't want it. Is this something specific to the east coast, which I doubt, or are customers that originally ordered these cars dropping like flies? Why this discrepancy?

This is no BS.
