Looking for track wheels for 996 gt3

What track wheels would you recommend? Have to be lighter than stock and not break the bank.

Nothing better! Any of the Corsair series wheels. Extremely strong, extremely light and extremely well priced. Not to mention they look great too!

This is how strong they are... C10's in the rear of this World Challenge Corvette

C14's on this ALMS Corvette

i have all four you mentioned

CCW is cheapest, not as well cosmetically finished as the other three but they are 2800/set, very strong. my fav

jongbloed is 3pc wheels. very nice as well.

fikse and bbs are very expensive to use as track wheel. by definition, track wheels go on and off the car 2-3x a week. they WILL get ding'd up. fikse tends to leak air after 2 seasons. i had 4 sets of fikses, they ALL leaked after 2 season.

I just ordered a set of CCW C14's. After doing research and looking at a lot of options, they seem to be the best bang for the buck for both performance and looks. The staff there is very knowledgeable and they even called to double check and make sure the specs were ok.

Just wanted to share my experience with them so far.

What is your experience with the C10s vs. the C14s? What is the difference.

Anyone out there selling their used and unwanted CCW's?

I am still waiting for the arrival of my C14s, they should be here in the next week and a half. The C10 weighs slightly less than the C14. I was quoted 18 lbs for a C10 in 18x9 and 19.5 lb for a C14 in 18x9. However, I like the look of the C14 much better, as for some reason the C10 just looks a little bare to me, especially with no lip. Both are strong quality wheels though, I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

As for used CCWs, I haven't seen many floating around (maybe the owners really like them) and in most cases, the wheels have been made in a custom offset/size, which makes it difficult to match your specific setup. Just my .2, hope it helps.

Ya, from what i've heard everyone who runs CCW's loves them! The only times i've seen them for sale are when owners switch to another track car. Like Driveral said, CCW will have them custom offset them for your needs.

CCWs are the way to go, considering your needs. If you want to spend more, DPE or HRE are very good choices.

I also used these, and was quite pleased with them. However, I bought them because at the time CCW (John) was not making wheels with proper offsets for the 6GT3 (early 2005). When he began making them, I sold the Forgelines, and went back to CCWs (ran them for many years on my 400 hp RX-7).
