Sorry to hear about your back. Have you at least consider a 997 Turbo or F430. They are pretty comfy and not as boring as the M3.

Artic Fox hit the nail on the head Just the little creature comforts make my driving more
pleasurable. Sometime I want to take a drink to work but I cant cause it will spill in the car. Yesterday I took a M3 to lunch and the first thing I noticed I could get out with out looking like I was making love to a football. This is my lot now. My competitive days are over due to a football injury 2.5 years ago. I dont ski, cycle, run or drive my GT3 because of this. A 997 Turbo maynot be a bad deal but a 430 would break the bank.
the only problem I have is the M3 board users are about 12 years old. I asked a month ago about brakes and the track and got called all kinds of names.
Jenk I hope you will still consider me a friend thats the one thing that bothered me yesterday.

Understand completely.I have an E63 M6 which is immeasurably more comfortable than my RS, and if I had a back problem there would be no contest. No disagreements re the relative strengths of the GT3, evidently, but the back problem is a clear limitation on your enjoyment of the GT3.

bad back. reminds me of a seinfeld episode.

i realized you injured your back 2.5yrs ago but for the sake of recovery, you don't happen to have a very fat wallet on your back pocket do you?

Sorry to see your GT3 go. It's one of the best out there. Hopefully it goes to someone who appreciates it. Good luck with the M3.

What about e60 M5? I sold my 997GT3 for it and I miss it, but at least I can take my 3 kids(2 boosters and 1 baby seat). I'm actually impressed with the new M3 especially the double clutch.

Paul,
At least you gave it a good P-car try. I know it was tough to first sell your Manthey 996 GT3 and now your smartly set up 997 GT3. Our car needs will always evolve, you do the best you can do with the choices available.
GL w/the M3, it is a nice vehicle. Local friend just got one. You may need an exhaust to wake up the already excellent V8 tone.

Hey Paul,

I just read this on helping with back pain.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080820/hl_nm/back_pain_dc

I don't know what the Alexander's Technique is, but if that has anything to do with VRAlexander on this board, the solution may be a CGT. Not a bad medical deduction I'd say. I am linking the entire text below here for you. Enjoy.

CP

LONDON (Reuters) - Chronic back pain can be eased by teaching the Alexander technique, an alternative therapy involving learning better posture, British researchers said on Wednesday.

Until now, there has been no real evidence of the long-term benefits of the Alexander technique, although previous research has suggested it may offer short-term relief.
To find out more, a team of researchers from the University of Southampton and the University of Bristol compared the effectiveness of different therapies in more than 500 patients. After a year of treatment, patients receiving 24 Alexander technique lessons reported experiencing just three days of back pain, compared to 21 days for those given normal care by their doctor, they wrote in the online edition of the British Medical Journal. Back pain causes more disability than almost any other condition in Western societies but very few effective long-term treatments are available. The technique was originally developed at the end of the 19th century by the Shakespearean actor Frederick Alexander.
