Firstly, it's gotta be a track weapon. Don't get me wrong... the GT3 is pretty good on the track.

Problem is that it's so nice, and clean, and pristine. I hate to take it to the track. I'm looking for something more suited to a track only car.

I've thought of the 996 GT2. I've thought about the Diasio 962R. Amazing machine. I went in a ride in one last weekend.

The GT3 is a great car, but not for what I want it for. It's toooo pretty. Excuse if I'm using girly language, but it is a very nice car.

SOOOO how about it

For the money, what could be a better track weapon than a 996 Cup car.

Martin your thinking of selling it??

What aout a nicely prepped 996 GT3, they say its more of a driver's car you'll still have the Porsche feel, plus with the left over money you can do motons and a few other upgrades and still have left over money in the bank!

I'd get an M5 if the GT3 did not exist ... but you should test drive cars and not pay much weight to what others say (including me). There's no way anybody can tell you what's right for you. Everybody told me a GT3 was the wrong car for Seattle. They were wrong. Same thing goes for car reviews ... take them with a grain of salt. Don't get all caught up in n-ring times and meaningless 0-60 time comparos.

How about a 996 GT3? It is supposed to be more raw/less civilized than your 997 GT3. Every now and then you will find nice ones up for sale and I have seen quite a few with tons of track upgrades and sold in the $70s. I would think you would be much more comfortable tracking something that puts out very similar performance yet cost 30-40% less.

Nobody has mentioned the GTR. Buy it and strip the interior. You can probably pull 300 lbs out of that car without even trying.

Dont do the diasio...that will end up being a mistake IMHO. I just say you buy a 996gt3 that someone set up to club race and go for that...best of every world!

+1 Cup Car, although this is a little more, I am sure that you could negotiate a bit. http://www.theracersgroup.com/cars/car.php?id=60 I know that I will have one in the future.

Drew - Now, don't just say "don't do it" without a valid reason why. Have you been in one? They're amazing.

No. No Aerial Atom. Out of business, no support.

ACR sounds interesting.

Cup Car is more cashola than I want to spend.
