cup car wheels on a 996 gt3?
cup car wheels on a 996 gt3?
does anyone know if the early cup car 18" bbs wheels (pre 02) will fit onto a regular 996 gt3?
im after a set of track wheels and see these coming up fairly often and noticed that they have mounting holes for a regular hub (ie 5) though no idea if these are infact dummy holes or not. is this indeed the case or were even the early cup cars running centerlocks and the holes are just there from the forging process though not machined to allow use on the regular hub.
does anyone know if and when the change took over from 5 bolt hubs to centerlocks for the cup cars.
if they will fit does anyone know the offset etc on these. i know widths are the same.
anyone got any info ref weights on these also?

Yes they will fit, I bought a pair from TRG a long time ago that I mounted on my 996GT3. Just make sure that they have the 5 lug centers and not the centerlock centers. It depends on the Series on which centers they had to use. Also, I would advise against buying the really early rims that had the magnesium centers and only buy the ones with the aluminum centers. The magnesium centers are prone to crack and most race teams replace them every 2 seasons. I got mine in magnesium and slowly but surely cracked every single one. The replacement centers, (only aluminium is now available) are $700+ so it gets expensive.
