Replacing amber side markers - question

I originally posted this in the tech Section, but I am thinking that section sees slim attendance compared to model forums.

I am trying to replace my amber side lights with clear, but was thwarted by the front fender well covers. I have the right sockets for the screws, but those plastic two layered rivet things have me stumped. Do I just yank them out and buy replacements, or will that do other damage? Is there a way to get them out without trashing them and/or the lining?

TIA

Just push the light towards the front of the car & pull slightly towards yourself to get the light out

Heh, yeah I was at the dealer today and asked about this and he told me I didn't need to remove the fender well covers. The instructions I had seen, however, acted like you needed to disconnect the wire and use a screwdriver to help pry it out from the back. BAD, EVIL INSTRUCTIONS!

Thanks!
