Closure?

OK, so its a small item but it matters for authenticity. To recap, the other day I enquired about ordering a replacement tire pressure sticker for the driver's door jamb because mine had been removed. My local dealer told me it would be $300. I thought maybe my dealer was intellectually challenged so decided to seek the help of the all-knowing Suncoast parts team (they are great). I received an email back from Suncoast regarding my request for a replacement sticker today stating:

"...this is crazy what Porsche wants done for these stickers.....
I have been told in person by our local rep on how to go about getting the Tire Pressure Sticker, and to make a long story short your dealer was right....

You have to provide all but your first born...
I can only do this for local Customers ONLY!!!

It does cost us about $300 to get it from Porsche North America, and will take months to get, so your dealer's price is right on. To go about getting this sticker is like we are getting a new VIN tag for a car..."

Good grief...

Sheer insanity, Lloyd! Doesn't sound like there's any other particular recourse at this point, unless you happen to be in Zuffenhausen for a factory tour and can persuade one of the line workers. Of course then you'd need to contend with JIT inventories and the like - probably only one sticker available per relevant vehicle on the line.

Never thought the $300 price tag could be true. Guess we need to protect those stickers on GT3s and RSs more so than the fuel in the tank! And, incidentally, I rescind my offer of C$290 to sell ya my sticker...about those new wheels you picked up though...

so my dealer from got back to me on the tire pressure stickers.... lol

Fernando,
The stickers have to be ordered via fax to Porsche with vin number and paint code. Your cost is $250.00 and about 4 to 6 weeks delivery. Good stuff ha!

lloyd,

if you want, i can take a HI-RES photo of my sticker.. then resize it so you can print it out. im sure you can use one of those pre-cut stickers and print it out on a good color printer and it will come very close to the identical sticker

Fern, that's a very kind offer however it won't be necessary. I don't plan to attempt to re-create the sticker anytime soon.
