we have a turbo cayenne as well as a supercharged 996 in addition to the stradale. so, i think it not classless for me to be here expressing my opinions.

btw, hung another 100 miles on the stradale in the mountains today. what a fricken rush!

exactly! from what i've seen of 996s (and now cayennes), i don't know how fcars could be LESS reliable. besides, who cares? the 5k service runs $1k and doesn't need another until 15k. it's doubtful i'll have it at 15k though since i only put 16k on my 996 so far in 4 years. then again, i've put 500 in 6 days on the Stradale so at that rate...

I'm pretty sure Ferrari's "curb" weight figure does not include a full tank of gas (I believe it's 1/3-1/2 a tank), and obviously their "dry" weight figure reflects NO gas . A full tank of gas (25 gallons) adds 150 lbs to Ferrari's dry weight figure. I'm sure you're correct about the min. weight calculation being based upon a car with no options (i.e., radio, fire extinguisher, battery charger, temporary spare, etc.) and the lexan side windows.

Tyson, dont cheat yourself. The GT2 is a full 10 seconds faster on the Nurburgring than the 360 CS. And a regular 99 grand GT3 is two seconds faster.

Don't get ahead of yourself. Are those times attained with you behind the wheel? Or are you quoting someone elses track times, like any fourteen year old would.

That same Nurburgring driver in a Mini Cooper can be 30 seconds faster than most of us in a GT2. Go get the Mini.

What the hell... all these numbers were gotten by the chiefe driver and editor of Auto Motor und Sport and are verified times, all in good conditions.

"Or are you quoting someone elses track times, like any fourteen year old would."

seriously, what the hell is wrong with you...

What's wrong is I got caught up in traffic all night long and couldn't boost

No. Nothin's wrong with me. I'm just tired of people using numbers by some chief driver/editor to argue with car is faster or better.

Who the hell cares. It's not always about how fast you get there for us mere mortals. It's about how good you look and feel getting there.

A CS could make you look and feel very good getting there me think.
Of course if track time is all that one cares for, then go ahead and knock yourself out and spend 150k modding a 150k car.

Why does everyone quote times at the Nurburgring like they mean anything? It is a lousy track to compare times. Too long, too many turns, too many variables. Something shorter, with more straightforward turns, like Watkins Glen, or Summit Point, where you can run many laps with-in 10ths of a second would be a better comparison.

Did I ever say that I like the GT2 or GT3 better than the 360CS... all I did was specify the exact times that Hamman was talking about, nothing else....

I know you didn't. I just didn't want to further support the point that Hamman was making.

I wonder how will the F430 change the equation though at the Ring...

I know you can beat Rohl even in the passenger seat.
I've seen you cut off a Boxster while in the passenger seat. That was an amazing feat

But I still don't think others should base their car purchase decision on what Sharky can do with the Sharkmobile.

That quote there pretty much sums up the difference between a "sports car" guy and a sports car enthusiast.

the concern with "looking" good certainly fails the enthusiast test, but I disagree about the later "feeling" good failing as well. it's the rush of emotions that makes the CS so fun to drive.
