GT3 advice, opinions

New to the GT3 world. I bought an '05 GT3 for tracking, as I didn't want to convert my 997TT to a track car. I want to do the safety stuff early on - seats, bar, harness, FE. As I get some seat time, will do the suspension stuff as well.

I would like to get euro GT3 seats. Anybody have opinion on cloth vs leather? Also, for the harness, which type of release seems to be best? I plan on getting a HANS so should I look at the HANS-specific harnesses primarily?

TIA

Answers to your questions I would think maybe relavent to whether the GT3 will for track only or also see regular street driving.

if your are going to get the Euro GT3 seats the type of harness is important...Scroth makes a harness that is designed for Hans and also has the GT3 seat connectors on the ends of the lap belts...this will save you lots of mounting headaches...as far as leather vs cloth...I have leather and find them easier to clean after a hot day at the track (have many days in 90+ temps)...before going to the track get a good alignment and your first suspension mod should be the rear toelinks with locking plates for the eccentrics...some of these cars lose the toe setting very easily...good luck and enjoy the new car...

+1 on everything except that personally I love the Cloth. Can't stress how much a good alignment is worth doing on these cars.

Thanks guys.

Certainly agree with the need for alignment on the GT3. I will be getting rear toes fairly soon. Seems like it would be an easy DIY, having done the full Pss10 on my turbo with only the occasional help of my son.

Let me know if your hear about any euro seats for sale (I've already missed out on 3 opportunities)
