Screen Painting UPDATE

I wanted to update my post. I painted the screens with a black paint. the screen was a stainless steel screen. Right after it was done it looked fine. I drove the car today for the first time since the install and i could see little flakes chipping off. In other words. I don't think the stainless steel screen is good for painting. better off to use a painted powder coated screen. Its not a problem yet it depends on how much it chips from hear, but not a good sign.

That is excellent advice, I was looking at some silver (galvanized) at Home Depot and thought about using a Krylon spray paint that will adhere to any thing.

Stainless Steel is tough to stain.

What is your plan, redo or leave as is for a while?

I am going to monitor it. Job #1 was to protect the radiators. I am kind of stuck. I can touch up if I had to. My track season is just about to start so I will give it a go and see where this goes. if it has to go, then I would order the smaller screen offered at customcargrills.com they offered a smaller powdercoated screen, I like the product just ordered wrong size. If I can had to do it over I could, just not motivated to dig back in.

I am sure you are a little bit pissed, I would be mainly because I don't have the time to do it twice (once is hard enough to find time).

I too start my track season, only 4 weeks to go and I will be wearing out tires and brakes again!

guys, i'm happy to report that the OSH-Daytonaviolet screens still look as good as new (since 6 months ago?). no nicks or chips. i believe they are powercoated stainless steel and have a glossy look. strongly recommend you get those instead.
