Strap down your iPhones! (Consider yourself warned)
My iPhone was finally recovered after 4 weeks of being lost in my car. Where it went is hard to believe but true... so strap down your iPhones ...
I typically keep my iPhone in the little pocket forward of the shifter. About 4 weeks ago, I was taking a left-hander and the phone flew out to somewhere where I could not see. Being lazy, I applied brakes hard a few times hoping it would find its way forward to where I could see it. No such luck.
After arriving at destination, I searched for my phone but could not find it. Weird since there's not many places it can go. I borrowed a phone and called myself and could hear it ring but could still not find it even through it sounded like it was coming from under the carpet! I pressed on the carpet and it dampened the sound, but of course not.
I waited to I got home and continue my search the next day. Unfortunately, the phone was dead by then so bad call on my end.
Long story short, after pulling both seats and performing an exhaustive search (8+ hours), still no iPhone. I started to doubt myself but when I drove the car and braked hard, I could hear something sliding around just a little bit :0( Now that really sux. Not only am out a phone, now I've got to listen to my phone clank around too?
Anyway, after 4 weeks and no passenger seat (that's the side it had to be since I lost the phone on a left hander), I finally gave-up looking. Putting the passenger seat in, the rail wasn't lined-up real well, and I sensed the bolt starting to cross-thread. Not wanting to take any chances, I took it to Collin at Cantrell to chase the thread w/ a tap since I needed the airbag warning reset anyway.
The guys at Cantrell were sure they could find the phone and I was sure they couldn't so I made a small wager. Happily, they won the wager.
The phone made its way under the carpet (there's a cut out in the carpet under the seat), worked it's way into a channel, and followed it's way along the driveshaft tunnel (or whatever it's called on a 911 since there's no driveshaft
). I must be going blind because they found it in about 5-7 min, but it took about 15-20 min for them to nurse it back out the way it came in.
It's good to have my phone back, but I'm more happy just to have it out of the car.

that mustve drove u nuts!
I found a lipstick under my passenger seat when I took the seat out. I'm pretty sure it's my wife's but I just threw it away and never told her about it just in case she doesn't recognize it lol.
