Replicate 996 GT3RS

For the longest time my dream car has been a white/blue 996 GT3RS. Living in the US, from what I know this car isnt street legal here so buying one over seas and important may end up costing a fortune and I may never end up having it completely legal and insured at the end. So I was thinking... how hard would it be to replicate a 996 GT3RS? Lets say I purchased a 996 GT3 and decided to go from there. Hopefully someone here could help me out

I have done exactly that in Australia - not because of unavailability, but because it is actually cheaper that way: All parts were OEM purchased and installed through Porsche. Total cost was about 20k Australian Dollars (15k USD). Could probably do it cheaper if you buy the bits from aftermarket substitutes.

I am looking to do an exact replication, everything from the seats to the sticker badge on the front hood. Does anyone know if the current wheels used on the 997 GT3RS are the same as the ones used on the 996? Also does anyone know of the blue paint code for the wheels?

The suspension is different, carbon fiber front hood, single mass flywheel, european cars also have a bigger fuel tank, seats, cage, plastic rear windshield. What else? Excellence magazine had an article about them a while back and someone find out that they were making more than the claimed 380hp.

unique RS bits are:

RS front bumper, RS rear wing blade, single-mass FW, polycarbonate rear window, uprated bilstien shocks with eibach springs, carbon fibre hood, carbon fibre mirrors, ram-air scoops on the boot lid, in addition to the usual club-sport package

I good friend actually had a converted 996 GT3 RS (or very close) here in the Mid-Atl... when he took delivery of the car he also received a crate that included all the OEM parts for the conversion. PM me for his info if you'd like.

The upper rights of the suspension are also different, it homologated the RSR for the FIA.

I used the cup car suspension components (sway bars, links, toes, control arms and solid mounts) - you are better off doing that way as it is cheaper

Depends on your roads. Either way, a cup suspension has no rubber so keep in mind that a lot of the parts need to be serviced frequently.
