I have to say that it feels better in almost every aspect.
The only thing I found a bit easier with the GT2 was heel/toe
pedal positioning.
As far as looks are concerned, that will always be a matter of opinion but I will say that the interior material quality is definitly better.
The updated lights and fenders do flow better and look more aggressive in my opinion as well.
As far as driving feel, the RS feels more connected to the road. The 2 at any moderate + speed always seemed twitchy. Maybe the greater power
w/o traction control is part of the difference but the RS does not feel
that much slower than the 2. It is also reminisent of a 993 when looking
out over the hood/fenders which is kind of neat. The car just feels right, to the point that after 300 miles, I am more comfortable playing around in the RS than the GT2.

Is it worth the approximate $40K delta...no not really. The problem is that the GT2 REALLY is more car than what they will fetch. Basing the delta on the overall experience, I would put a real value number at about $20K but we all know it winds up being about double that number based on the two cars being sold and purchased.

+ 1 on the color choice, decal color and wheel color.

This would be my choice of an RS if it was in my price range.

Many people like the black wheel look...to me it looks the 6000SUX from Robocop. Just a little too dark and industrial for me...

Let me know when you want to sell...preferably about 5 years from now as I just bought a 997S...wifey may not love the churn.

Enjoy...

Thanks, but I think you are being generous when you describe the 996 2 as "twitchy". The appropriate phrase for GT2 driving may be "sphincter pucker".
