GMG RSR Roll bar introduction * Another First!!!

Gents

As many of you know Porsche no longer sells the 997 GT3 Motorsport Roll bar in North America.

A few of the draw backs of this bar were:
DOM thin wall tubing did not meet requirement for most sanctioning bodies.
You could not move the seat back all the way if you were over 5'10"
You had to drill holes in your floor to mount the bar in your car.

With our new GMG RSR bar we have addressed all the issues and have developed a bar that is a bolt design which that the factory could never offer.

Here are some details of the GMG RSR Roll bar.. * Another "first" in the market.

GMG RSR Roll Bar

An evolution of the factory Tequipment/Motorsport bar, our RSR bar is made of 4130 Chro-Moly Tubing that has been TIG welded and normalized for superior strength and rigidity. A common problem of the factory T equipment/Motorsport bar is that it requires the use of 1-piece fixed back GT3 style seats for improved leg room (But is still limited). If you are 5’10” or taller, moving the seat back far enough is a challenge with the factory bar. Our GMG RSR Harness/Roll bar solves this problem while also offering these key features:
- Use of Chromoly Tubing that has been carefully TIG welded and normalized at all joints.
- Designed to work standard reclining seats or GT3 fixed back seats offering drivers the ability to move the seat all the way back (Not possible with the factory Tequipment /Motorsport Roll bar)
- Designed to work with clip in kit for harness (no need to drill holes in your floor to mount the harness anchors)
- Comes complete with all hardware to install. Mounts to the seat belt anchors at the B pillar and to the rear upper strut mounts. –(No drilling or cutting of car required, Factory bar requires drilling holes in floor)
- Available in Standard Satin Black finish or optional color matching to your car available
- Installation at our facility is available and recommended.

Fitment: All 997 coupes including GT3, GT3RS and 997TT /GT2
(Please specify with or without sunroof)
* Patent Pending- GMG exclusive design.
- Shipping available (oversized)

Fitment: All 997 coupes including GT3, GT3RS and 997TT
(Please specify with or without sunroof)

Call for pricing.

Steve any creeking? Only ask because my Porsche motorsport bars in my GT3 drove me crazy despite multiple attempts to address the issue.
This roll bar does look nice. Thinking about it for the RS.
Thanks

Ranger

The question is how strong are the seat belt anchors - if the bar is mounted to them, will they just shear off in the event of a rollover? (Don't know the answer, but someone on this board may know)

The seat belt anchor point is the strongest part on the car, it has to be in order to meet crash test certifications around the world.

The original T equipment bars were all anchored at the seat belt mounting location.

If you sheer the roll bar at the b-pillar mount you have bigger things to worry about.. Lets face it I dont think anyone would fair well in such a violent roll.

What's the differences between this bar and the other bars? I read the website, and I can't quite tell what's different.

The major difference's are design and mounting.

Materials and assembly process are the same.
