997.1 RS or 997.2 GT3
Arguments in favor of GT3.1 RS:
-Bright colors
-Wide rear track like the 911s of old, mine has a clubsport set-up (half-cage, GT3 seats, etc...)
I would still buy a 'preowned' 997.1 GT3 - a much better deal and you can use the extra money for modifications and the like.

Oh boy, an open can of worms.
Anyway, imho, unless the RS was CPO able, discounted at least 30% off of MSRP, will very low miles and the right options for you, I'd go 997.2 GT3.
Price aside, the .2 is faster, better looking (to me) and has a full warranty. The real tangible benefits of the .2 to me are: the Centerlock wheels, brakes (whether iron or PCCBs), the bigger engine with more power -although modest, much better torque, improved suspension ala GT2, much better downforce, an improved interior, etc.... It is the pinnacle of the current 997 run, 997.2 RS aside.
