Sports Classic
You do make an excellent point. Makes one wonder why they didn't match the GT3's numbers.
hahaha... and the roof and paint... yeah... it is high.... but still a beauty. Sure makes me realise my RS was a bargain.. ;P
Hi.
Interesting to see your opinions here.
I discussed the SC in a German discussion board and the most ppl said it´s way too expensive.
BTW, the official(!) price is 201.682EUR, which means about 297.000$. Its about 20k Euros more than a GT2 here in Germany.
What do u think now?

Simply stunning. However, I would rather get a mk1 GT3 ($85K) in white, buy the Fuchs-like wheels, duck-tail and call it a day. You would end up with a better performing car that looks the same, but costs $150K less. In fact, I may do that!
Hi Laguna_Dude,
a few weeks ago I spoke to my Porsche dealer about the Sport Classic. First, it´s completely sold out in Germany (only 47 or 48 cars).
Second, it´s a wider Body than the standard 911. Should be very hard to convert your GT3 into a SC. You would also need an other roof, the dealer said.
What I really don´t get is, why is the car not available in US?! That´s beyond my gasp. I´m sure there are some enthusiasts who would buy it instantly.

This is almost as nice as that one, but it's as ridiculously priced too...

Under the rear decklid is an air-cooled 3.82-liter flat-six sporting six individual throttle bodies. With a GT3 crankshaft and titanium connecting rods, the powerplant spins eagerly to 8,000 RPM. The engine sends 425 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque to a proper Getrag G50 six-speed manual transmission. According to the engineering team, the 2,400-pound Singer 911 will sprint to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Top speed is in excess of 170 MPH.

what an easy way for Porsche (I meant VW) to make some quick money with a few cosmetic changes to the base car.
next thing we know, they will put a turbo engine in and call it a super sport classic, limit to 200 cars, and people will pay big bucks for it.
I don't have problem with paying slightly more for a special version (I have a club coupe), but the entry price has to be within reason.
