Beautiful car, you did it wonderfully. What's the diff between the Stock RS Rockers and the Cup Car Rockers? Is it just behind the front wheel? I LOVE that interior. Even though it probably cost similar to buying an already correct and nice 996GT3, it's still cheaper than the 997GT3 RS and like you said, you saved a perfectly good structurally sound GT3, afterall, the engine is the heartbeat of the car. Now she's got that little bit of "Enhancement" that we're so prone to seeing in beautiful girls around here in SoCal lol

Thank you. Here was a car that was adored by its original owner then sold to someone who trashed it within a month of ownership. So all that care from the first owner had no value? It seemed unfair. We had to save the it. We feel its back in good hands. The rockers that we used are a single unit without the plastic/rubber along the lower portion as per the production GT3RS. The interior was an issue from the start. We approached it with the thought "what would Porsche do". We will always have the concern that selling it will be an issue as most want to stay away from any car with salvage title. This I understand but feel that we as enthusiasts need to understand that we have a responsibility to keep these cars around. The insurance industry looks at these as they do any other car. These are not just any car. Turns out that being brought back is now part of its charm. Hopefully it encourages others to do so with other Porsches. We're thinking of a registry of [properly] rebuilt Porsches to encourage others to keep them around. Afterall historic racing got those old racecars back. Most were just old and unwanted.

Wholeheartedly agree. The Registry sounds like a fantastic idea and a great way to keep track of salvage cars that would be good cars to own. That being said, some sort of stringent criteria would have to be drawn up and that might be tough to enforce given the nature of some unscrupulous parties. I do love the idea though and salvage title doesn't always say stay away, this car's proof sometimes they're put back together better than when they left the factory. Enjoy her!

Thanks ScottKelly911. Not sure its better than factory but it is most likely the only hand built GT3RS. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to do such a registry. If you know of anyone that would like to assist with ideas I'm sure it can be done.

I don't have a lot of background in Porsche cars, but I'd love to help if I can.

I appreciate your explanation and admire your compassion. Can you post "before" photos?

Thank you. Still working on it. Added a factory bar since the photos. Have considered selling it to start a new project but so much time has been invested that it will be difficult to see it go elsewhere.

Has it cost more or less than just buying an original 997?
